Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma on Sunday evening inaugurated a series of development and beautification projects at prominent locations in Mau district, aimed at improving public amenities, urban aesthetics and lighting infrastructure.
During his visit, Sharma inaugurated development works carried out around the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Patel Upvan near Ballia Mod Tiraha. He also inaugurated beautification works around the statue of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya at Ghazipur Tiraha, development works at the statue site of late Algu Rai Shastri at the Mau Bus Stand, and a prominent tricolour mirror and column lighting installation at Mirzahadipur Chowk.
Addressing the gathering, Sharma said there would be no shortage of development works aimed at ensuring the convenience and well-being of citizens. He said efforts to make Mau a clean, attractive, safe and modern city would continue, with systematic development and beautification being undertaken at major intersections, roads and public spaces.
According to the minister, these initiatives are intended not only to enhance the visual appeal of the city but also to provide residents with better public spaces and a more convenient environment.
Sharma said statues of national leaders and prominent personalities are symbols of inspiration and collective pride. Developing and beautifying such locations, he added, goes beyond improving the appearance of a city, as these sites can also help introduce younger generations to the lives, struggles and contributions of great personalities to nation-building.
The Urban Development Minister said the government’s primary objective was to provide citizens with better facilities and create urban environments where people do not face difficulties related to transportation, cleanliness, lighting or other public amenities. Development projects are therefore being undertaken continuously across urban areas with these objectives in mind.
Sharma further said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India and the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the campaign to transform Uttar Pradesh cities into modern, clean, beautiful and citizen-friendly urban centres is moving forward steadily.
He said Mau is an important part of this development journey and expressed confidence that residents would see more development projects and improved urban infrastructure in the district in the coming period.
